Both the National Gallery Building and the Royal Scottish Academy Building serve as the home of Scottish National Gallery, modern paintings displayed in the former whilst old ones in the latter. The Gallery displays some of the greatest art from the early Renaissance to the beginning of the 21st century. Strolling around the gallery you’ll find many renowned painters learned from history or art books, including Raphael, Velázquez, Vermeer, Monet, Cézanne and Van Gogh. By visiting the most comprehensive part of the collection which covers the history of Scottish painting you’ll find major names like Ramsay, Raeburn, Wilkie and McTaggart.
