鱼尾狮准确讲更加靠近esplanade。非常喜欢esplanade这个词，发音中就充满了休闲和慵懒的感觉。从esplanade的字面意思就能猜出来，鱼尾狮的位置就是在一条宽阔的海边步道上。从city hall区域去往esplanade有两座桥可以过河，一座是白色钢结构的anderson bridge。1910年建成通车，桥长70米，可以同时通过汽车和行人。鱼尾狮平台这里真的是很多人。不过大家素质还是满高的，想和鱼尾狮合影都会自觉的排一下队。其实这座雕塑是1972年才诞生，1997年从之前新加坡河的入海口搬迁到这里的。mer就是sea，代表着之前新加坡在还是一个小渔村时爪哇语的名字“淡马锡”，而lion则代表着新加坡的马来语名字singapura“狮城”。所以我理解merlion就基本代表着新加坡的过去和现在吧。

据说新加坡官方放置的merlion雕塑有7个，幸好去之前我是不知道的，不然一定会把这7个都打卡的，以下是Wikipedia中提到的6个放置地点，有兴趣的同学可以去替我完成打卡：

Also, a pair of Merlion statues were constructed by the Ang Mo Kio Residential Committee in 1999. Those sit at the entrance of the car park along Ang Mo Kio Ave 1.
